Hey there! I’m Elisabeth.

I’m a wife, mother, and a qualified Foundation Phase teacher with a love for music — especially teaching beginners.

Dear Elisabeth, we have been using Miss Piggy's Beginner Recorder Book for our Grade 3&4 recorder classes for the last couple of lessons, watching the videos and generally having a lot of fun with the program. The children loved the "tooting" and "hooting" and we have much less squeaky sounds since they have practised that well. They are very interested in what Miss Piggy and Kasper are doing and how they are trying to learn the recorder as well. The 'hop', 'dong' and 'loong' notes can be recognized by everyone after very little practice - the pictures are fun and plausible. The abilities of Orlan Charles are fascinating and very motivating - Maybe we can also play so well one day. We thank you very much for the opportunity to join in your program - it is fun, enjoyable (for students and teacher) and a great way to learn the recorder. [...] We have really enjoyed everything we've done so far, and we're looking forward to continuing and practising more. We absolutely loved the character of Miss Piggy. I've never seen recorder lessons explained in this way before (for example, using the finger covers as little piggies whose snouts need to cover the holes), and it worked extremely well for [my daughter]. Her tone was very good right from the start, and she easily understood what was being explained in the videos, even though she doesn't actually know much English yet! [...] My other two children (aged 5 and 3) also thoroughly enjoyed the videos. [...] The quality of the videos, including the editing, on-screen text, sound effects, and other post-production elements, was excellent. We enjoyed the program very much and would definitely recommend it to other homeschooling families—as well as non-homeschooling families—who would like to teach their children to play the recorder.
